ProblemPossible causesCorrective action
There is a burning smell and a strange sound coming from the unit.-Turn off the air conditioner, unplug the power cord and contact the service center.
Water leaks from the indoor unit even when the humidity level is low.
The power cord is damaged or generating excessive heat.
A switch, a circuit breaker (safety, ground) or a fuse is not operated properly.
The air conditioner does not work. The air conditioner is unplugged.Check whether the power cord is plugged into the outlet.
A fuse is blown or the power supply is blocked.Replace the fuse or check if the circuit breaker has tripped.
A power failure has occurred.Turn off the air conditioner when a power failure occurs. When the power is restored, wait 3 minutes, and then turn on the air conditioner.
The voltage is too high or too low.Check if the circuit breaker has tripped.
The air conditioner turned off automatically at a preset time.Press the power button again.
The air conditioner does not generate cool air.Air is not circulating properly.Make sure that there are no curtains, blinds or furniture blocking the front of the air conditioner.
The air filter is dirty.Clean the air filter once every 2 weeks. See "Cleaning Air Filter" for more information.
The room temperature is too high.In summer, it may take some time to cool indoor air. In this case, select the jet cool operation to cool indoor air quickly.
Cold air is escaping from the room.Make sure that no cold air is escaping through ventilation points in the room.
The desired temperature is higher than the set temperature.Set the desired temperature to a level lower than the current temperature.
There is a heating source nearby.Avoid using a heat generator such as an electric oven or a gas burner while the air conditioner is in operation.
Air circulation operation is selected. In the air circulation operation, air blows from the air conditioner without cooling or heating the indoor air. Switch the operation mode to the cooling operation.
It is not possible to adjust the fan speed. The auto operation, jet operation or dehumidifying operation is selected. In some operation modes, such as the jet or dehumidifying operation modes, you cannot adjust the fan speed. Select an operation mode in which you can adjust the fan speed.
It is not possible to adjust the temperature. The air circulation operation or jet operation is selected. In some operation modes, such as the air circulation or jet operation mode, you cannot adjust the temperature. Select an operation mode in which you can adjust the temperature.

Air conditioner does not startThe air conditioner is unplugged.Make sure the air conditioner plug is pushed completely into the outlet.
The fuse is blown/circuit breaker is tripped.Check the house fuse/circuit breaker box and replace the fuse or reset the breaker.
Power failure. If power failure occurs, turn the mode control to Off. When power is restored, wait 3 minutes to restart the air conditioner to prevent tripping of the compressor overload.
The current interrupter device is tripped.Press the RESET button located on the power cord plug. If the RESET button will not stay engaged, discontinue use of the air conditioner and contact a qualified service technician.
FL appears in the display. The water collection tank is full. Drain the tank and reset your settings.
Room temperature is less than the set temperature. This is normal. The air conditioner automatically shuts off when the room equals or is less than the set temperature. Adjust the temperature setting, if needed.
Air conditioner does not cool as it shouldAirflow is restricted.Make sure there are no curtains, blinds, or furniture blocking the front of the air conditioner.
The temp control may not be set correctly. In COOL and HEAT model, press the DECREASE T pad.
The air filter is dirty.Clean the filter at least every 2 weeks. See the Care and Cleaning section.
The room may have been hot. When the air conditioner is first turned on, you need to allow time for the room to cool down.
Air conditioner freezing upThe cooling coils are iced over.Ice may block the air flow and obstruct the air conditioner from properly cooling the room.
Set the mode control at High Fan or High Cool.
Air conditioner runs too often or too longArea to be cooled is too large for the air conditioner.Consult your dealer for the air conditioner capacity necessary to cool the desired area.
Doors or windows are open.Make sure doors and windows are closed.
Code appears in the display. F1,F2 or F3Air conditioner is in FAN mode and the number shown is the set fan speed. This is normal. The air conditioner is working properly.
FLThe water collection tank is full.Empty the water collection tank. See the Care and Cleaning section.

Fan motor will not run.No powerCheck voltage at outlet. Correct if none.
Power supply cordCheck voltage to rotary switch. If none, check power supply cord. Replace cord if circuit is open.
Rotary switchCheck switch continuity. Refer to wiring diagram for terminal identification. Replace switch if defective.
Wire disconnected or connection looseConnect wire. Refer to wiring diagram for terminal identification. Repair or replace loose terminal.
Capacitor (Discharge capacitor before testing.)Test capacitor.
Replace if not within ±10% of manufacturer's rating. Replace if shorted, open, or damaged.
Will not rotateFan blade hitting shroud or blower wheel hitting scroll. Realign assembly. Units using slinger ring condenser fans must have 1/4 to 5/i6 inch clearance to the base. If it is hitting the base, shim up the bottom of the fan motor with mounting screw(s). Check fan motor bearings; if motor shaft will not rotate, replace the motor.
Fan motor runs intermittentlyRevolves on overload.Check voltage. If not within limits, call an electrician. Test capacitor. Check bearings. Does the fan blade rotate freely? If not, replace fan motor. Pay attention to any change from high speed to low speed. If the speed does not change, replace the motor.
Fan motor noise.GrommetsCheck grommets; if worn or missing, replace them.
FanIf cracked, out of balance, or partially missing, replace it.
BlowerIf cracked, out of balance, or partially missing, replace it.
Loose set screwTighten it.
Worn bearingsIf knocking sounds continue when running or loose, replace the motor. If the motor hums or noise appears to be internal while running, replace motor.
Compressor will not run, but fan motor runs.VoltageCheck voltage. If not within limits, call an electrician.
WiringCheck the wire connections, if loose, repair or replace the terminal. If wires are off, refer to wiring diagram for identification, and replace. Check wire locations. If not per wiring diagram, correct.
RotaryCheck for continuity, refer to the wiring diagram for terminal identification. Replace the switch if circuit is open.
ThermostatCheck the position of knob If not at the coldest setting, advance the knob to this setting and restart unit. Check continuity of the thermostat. Replace thermostat if circuit is open.

CaseExplanation
The air conditioner does not operate.• Check room temperature setting?
• Check if circuit breaker is on?
The room has a peculiar odor.• Check that this is not a damp smell exuded by the walls, carpet, furniture, or cloth items in the room.
It seems that condensation is leaking from the air conditioner.• Check the drain hose is connected tight or if indoor unit is installed even.
Air conditioner does not operate for about 3 minutes after turning on.• This is the protector of the mechanism.
• Wait about 3 minutes and operation will begin.
• About 3 minutes delay is applied to protect compressor from frequently on/off.
Does not cool or heat effectively.• Is the air filter dirty? See air filter cleaning instructions.
• Has the temperature been set correctly?
• Are the indoor unit’s air inlet or outlet vents obstructed?
The air conditioner operation is noisy.• For a noise that sounds like water flowing. -This is the sound of refrigerant flowing inside the air conditioner unit.
• For a noise that sounds like the compressed air releasing into atmosphere.
• This is the sound of the dehumidifying water being processed inside the air conditioning unit.
Remote Controller display is faint, or no display at all.• Are the batteries depleted?
• Are the batteries inserted in the opposite (+) and (-) directions?
Crack sound is heard.• This sound is generated by the expansion/contraction of the front panel, etc. due to changes of temperature.
